The Monicans are a tight 3 piece alt rock band, with hints of country, folk, punk, pop, and whatever else you may pick up in there. With Lew providing solid beats, Heather Lonie's driving bass, and Paul Beard up front on guitar and vocals, the sound is sometimes sweet, oftentimes not, but always new and interesting. The band upholds the tradition of rock music to be progressive and forward focused, with emphasis on creation and innovation.
you want me to check out your music? well let's make it official! me and the crew have a podcast strictly for underground artists. we'll play your song on our show for all of our listeners, and give our opinions and ideas on it. we'll read a bio for you so the world can get to know you a bit and we'll even shout out if you got a tour coming up or an album or ep dropping soon and let people know where to find you or where they can watch you perform. it's a critique show infused with comedy that will give you exposure and promo your projects. hit me back if you are interested.
Hi Monicans! Just wanted to say thanks for last Thursday night, we really enjoyed supporting you and hopefully we'll get the opportunity to play with you again soon. Hope all's well with you!
Oh wow, that is crazy. I guess a lot can happen in half a year. How the hell did you fit all of you, and the gear + sleeping space in that van? That's ridiculous! I'm sorry to hear about Chris leaving, but I guess that's how it goes sometimes, hey?
The Atom Farts broke up. We had an EP launch a few months ago. I could probably send one out to you once you've settled down in sheffield, unless you've got some sort of postal address now.
Thanks a lot for the add ! EletriKa sounds completely different from any Metal band you have ever heard. The Brazilian rhythms and the Portuguese language added to the songs makes its style unique, giving birth to a new kind of Metal. If you are really looking for something new about Metal, you should check EletriKa out!
Yeah it's guna be cool hearing yous too, I'm liking your sound! We're basically rewriting all our songs/setlist every gig so Bannerman's is either guna be awesome or complete chaos... D: guess we'll have to see..
Definetely would be good to tee up for a show or two sometime! We're currently in a bit of a hiatus though as our guitarist has decided to return home to Perth as of December, so we're gigging as much as possible until them, but are unsure where we are going to go from there! It's a bit of a bummer as we've just finished recording our debut EP and are due to release it shortly. If you want to check it out, theres a link to a free download at www.myspace.com/loudhoward
What made you guys make the move from Perth to Sheffield?
