Quiet and Patient? This is not how you would want to describe a rock band, but they are 2 words that have lent themselves well to Los Angeles based The Monkey Show. Juxtaposed with blown-out amps and urgent vocals, the story of The Monkey Show is one of waiting on the sidelines. While all members of the band performed in other projects, The Monkey Show brooded with restraint and waited...quietly.
Despite the band’s docile nature, the first independent release, "Eyes" slams and howls with potent tunes that flaunt influence from The Foo Fighters, The Dandy Warhols, and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. Laden with thick rolling riffs and big bellowed choruses, the sound is furiously melodic with hooks that will nest comfortably in unsuspecting ears.
The recently released ep features “Say it loud,” an indie rock anthem that instantly received airplay on Indie 103.1 and KSCR in Los Angeles. Within 72 hours of the song being completed, “Say It Loud” was on the airwaves in one of the biggest cities in the world proudly announcing the arrival of The Monkey Show...proving that sometimes good things do come to those who wait.
