   About The Monody
GO TO OUR SHOW! Walters on Washington - Friday - May 22nd - $8 Cover

"The Monody is a group of musician's looking to re-invent the world of music as they see it. Giving a creative side to music is mainly what they are going for. Looking to re-invent, not to copy or manipulate. Not caring what's going on in the main-steam music world. They're simply influenced by the world of music all together."
-John Sanford

The Monody, began with 2 friends from Houston, Texas. Wannabe artists who never had played instruments before, but always did have a huge interest in jamming. So, with Joshua McCormick beginning the drums, and Bryan Luce beginning the guitar, the two began a journey.
The two would try as much as they could to practice music together, colaborating, & getting skills and jams together. Creating new original jam music that most wouldn't understand, but surely that didnt stop them. They stuck to what they believed. And, as through time, they raised fans who acutally appreciated what the 2 artist's/musician's were trying to accomplish. So, with Josh and Bryan playing shows @ small venues, coffee shows and what-not, time began noticing they needed more sound structuring. So, the 2 musician's wanted to add a bass guitar player. They wen't through a nice amount of bassist's before they really found what they we're looking for. But, through friends & fans, the two Houston based artists met a very skillful bass guitar player by the name of Ryan Hill. The 3 began practicing together, & instantly jammed greatly. It was just the right feeling. Now with Ryan Hill in the group, The Monody has really transformed into a band not to be underestimated by. The band has prevailed, winning Battle of the Bands, and with out a singer. So, just by their instrumentation alone the 3-piece band is taking names.

So here we are today writing the story as we go. Hope your with us to enjoy the music. More to come in the future... (More Bio to come along, when we get a singer!! thank you.)
