Sounds Like
A warm bath interupted by your drunken roommate trying to unlock his bedroom door only to discover you have replaced all of his belongings with a sink and a toilet, and his bed is full of water.
A romp in the leaves past dusk.
"A disconcerting mix of whisky ballads and Deep House...made it difficult to drive straight."
The tape on the reel has run itself out, and the MoodieVeto will present our final live performance on February 3rd at the Elbow Room with the Great Lakes Myth Society and the Empty Orchestra.
'Say Goodnight, Lost Love', the MoodieVeto EP recorded and produced with Mr. Brandon Wiard, was released in early January on Sinister Soul Recordings, and is available for purchase in Ann Arbor's fine record shoppes, online and at the February 3rd Elbow Room show. We would also be glad to mail or hand-deliver a copy to you if you'd like to purchase one. We are extremely proud of the EP, and hope that it falls upon delighted ears.
Please see the 'WHERE TO PURCHASE THE NEW EP' blog posting for details on how to get your hands on the genuine artifact.
As for your humble players...
- Erich has taken a more prominent position with Leopold Bros. Distillers and will be relocating to Denver; we sincerely wish him nothing but success, both in life and future musical projects.
- Adam has formed 'Bone Orchard Revival' with Jeni Lee Richey (of Lula Found), and plans to be back in the studio of Mr. Wiard this summertime season. High lonesome harmonies washed in the blood and quite a bit blue. You should invest 5 minutes into checking them out.
- Amanda will finally start the Japanese Pop cover band with her brothers they've all been dreaming about. Most likely under the name, Whoa! ... McClintock!
It has been quite an enjoyable year since this project was undertaken, and we wish to sincerely thank everyone who has come out to hear and see we three with our instruments, offered kind words, or generally just enjoyed what we have assembled. We also would like to send our collective gratitude to all of the fine artists we have had the pleasure to share a stage with.
Now back to our regularly scheduled programme...
-A.M. Arscott, the MoodieVeto
Established oh so long ago in September of 2005, this trifecta of minutia focuses their creative energy into soundscapes about heartbreak, world war II, sudden expatriatism, alone time and those who make it more needed, plain old fashioned lust and those foggy nights when you wind up using parking meters as walking sticks.
The decision to remain a three piece is due to the fact that it costs too much to feed full time bass players....And our infatuation with the idea of an entire musical ensemble travelling via sub-compact car.
That crazy old man down the block, his creeky concertina and wonderful raspy voice; the Mod kids in their zipper boots and impeccable hair; the decrepid metropolitan byways of Detroit; Rogers and Hart tunes howled into a megaphone; an empty airport in Osaka at three in the morning on a Tuesday; a mellotron with anger control issues; the way her hips shake when that bass starts moving; the way your head nods in time with her hips....
We've also got Dirt Fest tickets for sale. Please consider this purchase or we loose monies!! :D Only 20 bucks!! :D August 2nd, 60+ bands, 5 stages at the Birch Run Expo Center just a few miles south of Frankenmuth.
um, when i was in denver with erich and erin...erich told me about how you were saving your "oooh snap". it was one of the funniest things i've ever heard.
that thought just popped in my head and i had to share. miss you good sir.
I heard that you crazy electro bands like to remix music. I suggest replacing thelead keyboard solo in down with the main keyboard riff from red menace. Then light a candle. You will see your whole life flash before your eyes.
I have seen the future. I will be at the elbow room. it will be valentines day. I will drink whiskey while I listen to Adam play. Drunk I will meet a girl, follow j-mo across railyards and eventually move in with said girl. I will write a screenplay based upon this vision and call it"Full Circle." Also, I wish you two the best on Saturday night. Please, at some point, for me, wander across the stage and then back again as if you were furious with the sounds coming out of your amp. then you can resume the adam stance. xoxoxo -e-
just wanted to make sure you knew the "moth" preorders are opened up at dovecote records , and that if you preorder it you also get a free 7" vinyl picture disc with a new song and a poster.
also, we will write a letter on your behalf to an estranged cousin that you don't even know exists yet, beckoning them back into your life. when they suddenly appear at your doorstep, and the confusion subsides, it will (for various reasons) be very clear why they were estranged and you will want to re-estrange them immediately.
It was awesome catching up with you the other night rrr'scott, hope we can do it again sometime. In the meantime, check out my friends band here on m'space at http://www.myspace.com/aprilfishes
