LONGEST HAPPY HOUR IN LONDON...BOGOF ON ALL COCKTAILS (EXCLUDING CHAMPAGNE) from 5PM till 9PM EVERYDAY!
thelondonpaper.com
Whatever your sweat glands may be telling you, this isn’t really the best time to be outdoors. Yes, it’s the hottest and earliest summer in the history of the universe, but that doesn’t mean ¬abandoning all good sense and sitting on ¬terraces and roof tops, ¬pretending to be all Mediterranean.
As any seasoned veteran of the refreshment world knows, drinking in the sunshine can easily lead to sunburn, encounters with nutters, and amorous lunches that are even more misguided and regrettable than usual. One minute you’re ordering something crisp and cold to take the edge off the heat, and the next you’re waking up in a strange part of town ¬looking like a prawn. Which might be exactly what you’re after. But if not, there’s another way to deal with the heat that’s much more chilled.
Instead of behaving like you’re on a beach in Bali, picture yourself on a snow-covered mountain in the skiing season, complete with pine trees, moguls and high levels of flirting.
You might think ski lodges are hard to come by in good-old London town, but you’d be wrong, because the Moose Bar off Oxford Street fits the bill perfectly. Designed around the theme of just such a place in the Rocky Mountains, it can soon induce the refreshing feeling that outside the door are snowdrifts and bears.
Tranquil images on the walls, of mountains and lakes set a cooling mood, reinforced by cowhide seats and antlers.
It’s snug and intimate and there are DJs in the downstairs bar six nights a week if you want to get hot. The cheery mood is helped along by very good cocktails at ¬remarkably low prices for this part of town.
The prices become even more reasonable during the generous happy hour from 5pm to 9pm every day, when all but champagne cocktails go for a thirst-quenching £3.75. If that doesn’t keep the heat off, see a doctor.

THE MOOSE
Time Out
I can't imagine anyone not liking this place. The latest venture from the Vince Power Music Group, opened late last year, is a rarity in the West End: cosy, reasonably priced, and with décor that's simultaneously eccentric and inviting. There are two spaces: a small ground-floor bar and a much larger downstairs bar with DJs six nights a week. The decorative motif is that of a ski lodge in the Canadian Rockies, big pictures of which grace the walls. Antlers adorning the ceiling lights and cowhide on the seating downstairs complete the rugged, rustic look. At 7.30pm on a Monday both rooms were pleasantly quiet, perfect for a pre-dinner drink.
We stayed upstairs and drank a pair of cocktails that were fine, in the case of a daiquiri made with three-year-old Havana Club, and excessively vermouthy, in the case of a Beefeater martini. But our charming bartender offered to make a new 'tini when told of the fault. And we had no complaints about pricing. The extensive cocktail list is £6.50, or £8.50 for champagne cocktails, and happy hour from 6 to 9pm offers ordinary cocktails at a delightfully cheap £3.75.
The food menu was being changed at the time of writing, but it will feature a few pies plus finger-food items served until 10pm. The attractions make the Moose a beautiful beast, whether for a late-night thrash on the dance floor, or just an early-evening libation at bargainissimo prices.

FEEDBACK FROM SOME OF OUR CLIENTELE
'Thank you so much for everything regarding Saturday night. As you rightly stated, I had nothing to worry about. Everyone one of my guests had a great time and a lot who I spoke to said they would definitely return for another night out. I can't praise The Moose Bar enough and everything went without a hitch and made the night very memorable for my fiance and I. The drinks were reasonably priced and the music was a perfect mix for everyone to enjoy. I would especially like to thank the two doormen who not only ensured our tables were kept free and kept exclusive to us, but they also kept asking me if everything was ok and if they could do anything else to help. Without doubt the friendliest doormen I've ever come across.
I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone.'
‘The service we received from the staff was FAB and the food and drinks were great !
Your staff are very friendly and accommodating! and the DJ was playing some awesome tunes!
I'll definitely be coming back again and will recommend to my friends as venues for their parties!’
‘Moose Bar was a smash hit. Thank you so much for arranging the seating for post event... I believe some of them stayed on till very late dancing/drinking the night away and they've all promised to go back’
‘Can I just say how fantastic the Moose is on a Saturday? Thank you for reserving an area for us last Saturday, our group had an excellent time’

A bar in the heart of London that whisks you away to the Canadian Rockies, and provides a delicious cocktail or two for the journey
The Venue - The Moose Bar is located just off Oxford Street – the centre of shopping for London, if not the world. But you feel 100 miles away from the jostle of bargain shoppers in The Moose Bar. The bar is styled like a ski lodge complete with log cabin walls, cow print sofas and antler chandeliers. There is not a lot of floor space but it doesn’t get too crowded and people flow out onto the street in the summer for a chilled cocktail after work.
The Atmosphere -
The Moose Bar feels very relaxed and has a great, feel-good atmosphere. Everyone is there to have fun and are friendly. People on dates, friends celebrating birthdays and people catching up from work can all be found kicking back. The bar staff are extremely friendly and mix up a delicious cocktail in record time. They’re happy to help and make sure you have a great time. It’s a good place to relax and you would never guess that 100 metres away people are elbowing each other out of the way in a sales rampage. Even fans of sales could be tempted away by the lure of this place.
The Food
Serving up delicious bar snacks like wedges, fries and gourmet pizzas, this place is great for a snack to keep you going before a big meal. The portions are generous (good for table sharing between friends) and the service is quick, and the prices are a real bargain with bar snacks costing around £2.
The Drink -
With a lengthy and varied cocktail menu, it’s impressive that the bar staff put so much effort into every single cocktail. Unlike like many similar bars, these guys really want the cocktails to be the best you’ve tasted and, thankfully, they don’t have to keep referring to menus for ingredients – other bars, take note: there’s a lot to be said for training your staff! The prices are very generous and at happy hour time (which is lengthy and at a perfect time) and the cocktails are a steal. They also serve more expensive but delicious champagne cocktails and are well stocked with mixers, bottles and wines.
The Last Word -
Oxford Street is a whirl of noise and bustle, but if you’re lucky enough to find yourself near Duke Street, then The Moose Bar will soon have you on an R&R trip up in the mountains.
hello the moose...please can we be your first top friend as we were the first friend on your page AND we come there all the time and we take LOADS of our friendS there AND I WORK RIGHT NEXT DOOR ....
