Here is a list of other artists that people have said we sound like: Captain Beefheart, Lloyd Cole, The Smiths, The Rolling Stones, The Strawbs, The Auteurs, The Monochrome Set. I've never even heard of The bloody Monochrome Set.
The Morning People's singer Sam spent many years making faintly unsatisfactory recordings of his songs with a sequencer and some Japanese synthesizers. When he was bored he would compile these into CDs for other musicians, under the name of The Morning People. Eventually, some of these musicians liked the songs enough to want to play them, and The Morning People became a real, flesh-and-blood band -- perhaps the first to combine pedal steel guitar and Casio home keyboards. In the future, The Morning People intend to gig furiously throughout the land, honing themselves into one of the tightest and most entertaining live acts in the country. After that, they plan to split acrimoniously, leaving their potential largely unfulfilled.

We loved your solo set in Northampton last night - please come as a full band really soon. And keep singing about plane disaster programmes. That's really cool.
I dare say you are right with the thoughts of Luke thing. It would still be a badge of honour to have a caustic comment from him I think. I guess we will have to make do with his withering indifference and await the new recordings.
Allways a pleasure to meet someone else who appreciates Luke Haines
