MySpace a place for friends

The Morphean was found in 2004. At that time, the band was called “Bellerophon”. Their style of music quickly developed to Swedish Melodic Death Metal. Aggressive vocals, fast doubled guitar riffs, creative bass lines and heavy drums were the trademarks of Bellerophon.

Many gigs had to be played, until the band decided to record their very first record, entitled “Undying Tragedy”, in April 2006. At the end of 2006, the name had to be changed, and The Morphean was born. The new name brought some other changes. With the new drummer Markus Bögl from Medusae, the songwriting became more complex and aggressive. The first output of this new phase was the single “My Right To Bleed”, which was also the last song featuring two vocalists.

The current EP „Divine“ was recorded at the end of 2007. The EP was recorded at the band’s rehearsal room and was mixed and mastered by Martin Zeller at Soundspur Studios. During the recording process, vocalist Thomas Allerstorfer decided to leave the band for personal reasons, therefore Bernhard had to do all the vocals. The press described “Divine” as an outstanding Gothenburg-Melodic-Death record, a perfect symbiosis of grooving Dark Metal and crushing Death Metal. Due to the great response to the EP, the band decided to record a full length record at the end of 2008.
