'the fact that they dont wear skinny jeans or have poncy fringes shouldnt stop many more people hearing their majestic and enthralling music.' - Hattie N, SoundsXP
'Set Me Free' mingles a contemporary pop sensibility with a snappy synth-era aura that works rather better than you might expect. The raucous 'Never Gonna Give You Up... has a noisy, catchy chorus likely to cause outbursts of the singalong variety. 'Crash' is different again, a bombastic approach to the vocal allied to a snappy pop beat and a great chorus' - Jackie Hayden, Hotpress demo review
The Movement have passed along to me a 3 song demo, which rings of New Order and is pretty exciting listening. - alison curtis, Today Fm
A great wee band - Across The Line, BBC Radio Ulster
The Movement have a knack for producing fast paced alternative pop with an edge all while tipping a respectful nod to the eighties scene. - Eric Campbell, New Music Ireland
The Movement have been gigging around Dublin since the start of 2006. The band are characterised by a strong Monaghan accent, an ear for a catchy melody, and quirky lyrics. The music lies somewhere in the post punk bracket, but we're not sure at which end
They recorded their first demo in 2004 featuring Set Me Free, Never Gonna Give You Up and Crash, before taking a year off to persue other projects. Back fresh in 2006 they spent a year writing, gigging and recording. In 2007 they disappeared into the studio to work on an EP which has turned into an album. Its being recorded in dublin's Apollo/Sun studios and various kitchens, bedrooms and garages by Ian McNulty (The Terribles) and will be finished by the end of the year......we promise.
