About The Mudheads

The Mudheads are a rock/punk/pop trio hailing from South Bristol who were born out of indie rockers Mudheads Monkey. Gaining increasing popularity in the South of England, especially among students, The Mudheads managed to perform to hundreds of different audiences over the past 5 years. Their own enthusiastic style of turbo charged covers and self penned punk pop has seen them likened to bands such as Greenday, AC/DC, the Offspring and Me First & The Gimmie Gimmies, with just a pinch of Slade thrown in. Energy, passion and sweat are three words that could describe a full on Mudheads performance, with a strong sense of melody and rhythm. They have never failed to win an audience or the venue staff over to their infectious brand of rock & roll excitement.

Deep, thick layers of rhythms and overlays of ambiance, from the gritty to the sublime, this eight-piece outfit create a controlled mayhem of weighty neo-tribal trance music, part Indian, part African, part Balkan, and part Baltimore, that transforms consciousness and carries the group and their listeners to higher states. The Wire magazine recently praised their 'refusal to acknowledge any kind of destination point for their jamming, achieving a convincing state of suspension throughout, helped by some engagingly forceful drumming.' I did see you guys sat there, you had that "band" look about you compared to the other punters. There were a couple of draft-packs in there, you'll need to have some good put-downs!
