HEY KIDS! Art Schmart Presents the first exhibition for 2008: JUNKY "ALL NOW WITH WINGS" 15th Feb 2008 Revolver Upstairs 229 Chapel st Prahran 'Junky' is an enigmatic street art avenger who creates creatures from the debris of society, then lovingly ressurects them onto wooden telegraph poles and other forgotten places around Australia. All his work is made entirely from recycled or found objects except the nails, he can never find enough nails. "The 'junky projects' are more than just an outlet for my frantic creative energies"... says 'Junky', "This is an innovative form of recycling which serves to highlight important environmental issues such as over consumption, pollution, and effective re-use. I want my art to raise questions in peoples minds about what constitutes art, what then constitutes street art, and what is that guy nailing to that telegraph pole?" So if you hear a loud banging sound like someone hammering at two in the morning, a telegraph pole near you could be the proud new owner of the latest 'Junky' Installation. Oh and best not to disturb him while he's working, cuz he packs a claw hammer y'know. Free entry. All pieces for sale on the opening night. Sponsored by Little Creatures.
