The Muses are Tanya Brody, Matthew Gurnsey, and Lindsay Jensen. Each has had a solo career and albums but they now play together as Celtic Band, The Muses.
Tanya Brody and Matthew Gurnsey each play a plethora of exotic instruments ranging from bohdran & concertina to harp & hammered dulcimer; psaltery, pennywhistles and zils to name just a few. Lindsay Jensen plays the fiddle and is the newest Muse and will be joining us on the 2008 tour.
The Muses add new life to old songs as well as adding original material to the Celtic repertoire. Since the moment they chose to blend their voices in song they began captivating the hearts of every audience from Hawaii to Maine, Vancouver to Florida, weddings and pubs to concerts and main-stages at Scottish Games and Celtic Festivals. The Muses perform with a ferocity and a strength of heart that embodies the music they both love so dearly.
Seeking the return of traditional Celtic folk songs (and a stage overflowing with instruments & vibrance), The Muses breathe new life into a music that will never die. “Through our music you can feel the green shamrocks underfoot, catch the aroma of a distant salt sea, and taste the highland rain upon your lips.”
Both Tanya and Matt have been performing since their youth. They have each sung in various choirs and madrigal groups as well as a great deal of time spent treading the boards both in school and professionally. Each has run a business involving performance or interactive theater in some way which gives them an edge by being able to involve the audience more instead of making them feel that they are just along for the ride.
With beautiful voices creating bewitching vocal harmony and more instruments than anyone was ever meant to own, much less know how to play. The Muses play with a passion and a brilliance that is sure to be enjoyed by all and are truly an inspiration.

Glad you made it home. Sorry you had to leave this lovely island though. Dave and I sure enjoyed hearing you here in Honolulu and still listening to the CDs. I'm glad I followed you across the Pacific, the acoustics in the Honolulu Library were superior to the Manchester Library ;-) Plus the palm tree backdrop was a nice touch too.

I love all the songs you do but my favourite is The Briar and the Rose. The three of you singing was heavenly!

Well, you overjoyed the Tucson audience again with your unending joy of music and shenanigans for 2 days, but I wish it had been more. Do let me know when you get anywhere near Tucson, 'cause I'll be there! Warmly, Meg O'Neill Lofgren w/Round the House
Hi! Thanks for adding me! I miss you all at Fest. And our new little guy Isaac Donald hasn't listened to you yet...he would love the fast paced songs with a heavy drum beat.
I went and saw "The Adventures of Ace Proton" and it was wonderful. It actually was really good. It reminded me of the old Flash Gordon films I used to watch when I was a child. Which when I watched them it was from the 1940's, and I am not that old as of yet. Of course I was in the film, used as a guard on two ships. But aside from that it was a hit because of the main actors, and the script was so well written, and aside from the fact that it was so well directed and produced.
But I want to give my congratulations to the students, cast and crew that made it such a wonderful experience for me, considering that it was my second film that I had made. I will never forget it or them.
Thank you so much for the add! I love your music! I used to sit at the Pirates pub at the Colorado ren fair and Enjoy all of the music there! Thank you!
