   About The Muses
Myspace Backgrounds

The Muses have been engaging audiences with their all-vocal prowess since 2001. This three-woman a cappella powerhouse performs an eclectic mix of material. Their repertoire includes original compositions, traditional Celtic and Appalachian songs, spirituals, soul numbers and songs from around the world. Blending their voices into perfect harmony, the Muses create a rich tapestry of sound.

Based in Asheville, North Carolina, the Muses have performed at clubs, festivals, radio stations and weddings. The release of their first CD, Angel (2003), extended their fan base far beyond the borders of their home state. The Muses are delighted to have just released their second CD, Celtic Hillbilly Soul (2007).

More about The Muses' busy members:

Judy Rhodes' family has lived in the Western North Carolina area since the early 1700s. Her deep knowledge of the culture and music of the area add richness to the group. In addition to being a gifted songwriter, Judy is also a piano teacher, children’s choir director, mother to four children and a graduate student.

Gail Forsyth hails from Aberdeen, Scotland but has found a home away from home in Appalachia. Her lovely, nuanced voice brings Celtic song alive. Gail balances her “Muse time” with careers as a Speech-Language Pathologist and Licensed Massage Therapist. She is also an avid photographer and The Muses use her images for their CD liner notes and covers.

Natalie Grinnell is originally from Durham, NC via Omaha, Nebraska. Her powerful, soulful voice transforms every piece she sings into a mesmerizing experience. As well as being our resident diva, Natalie works as a make up artist and Nia instructor.

Dec 7 2008 7:47 PM

Just a friendly hello from the StereoFidelics! It's been a long, long road but the time is almost upon us. After 40,000 miles, 4 national tours, and a head full of American landscape, we've finally finished our debut album, Only Sleeping. We will be having our CD Release show this coming Wednesday, December 10th at The Grey Eagle Music Hall in Asheville, NC. We will be accompanied by special guest, Oso Rey, the show starts at 8 pm, tickets are only $8 and CDs are only $10 inside the door!!! Come join us for this pre-holiday festive extravaganza and be the first to see The StereoFidelics like you've never seen them before (kinda). Some new songs, new approaches, and new gadgetry will set the stage and, of course, enough energy to power a medium sized village. Thanks for your support and see you there!!
