The Musgraves Already championed by the likes of Tom Robinson on BBC 6 Music, Midlands-based four piece The Musgraves are set for a major break through in 2011 with their roots-infused pop. Recently signed to Imagem Music, the world's largest independent music publisher and home to such talent as Temper Trap, Vampire Weekend and Phil Collins – and with an EP due on Lookout Mountain Records – the band are gearing up for a very busy year. Kicking off with the infectious and hotly-tipped 'So Sofia', the production sound on the EP is injected with more than a twist of early soul and late 50s/early 60s pop/soul, influenced by the likes of The Ronettes, The Crystals and The Shirelles. It offers the listener a thick slice of high quality roots-pop loaded with folk instrumentation.
