About me: THE ALL NEW MUSIC BOX BLURB: The Music Box is a show that now broadcasts every Wednesday evening between 8.30 and 10pm, presented by me, Lee Madge, and sublimely co-hosted by Simon Baker. Broadcast, exclusively to the patients of New Cross Hospital on Radio Wulfrun.
The show aims to bring an eclectic mix of pop tunes from across all genres, whether it be folk, rock, reggae, hip hop, ska, blues - if it's any good, it's on, appears to be our philosophy.
The show has features akimbo, including "Connect Four" a musical connections game, whereby we play 4 records with a vague connection, the job being to spot the link. There's also "3 Of A Kind", a moveable feast of a feature, playing 3 records that could be from a featured artist, band, album (classic or new), genre, year, decade etc.
And finally, Get Back To The Beatles, a feature that attempts to prove the theory that it is possible to connect any band or artist to the Beatles within six degrees of separation, but it is really an excuse to play a Beatles tune on the programme, were an excuse ever really needed.
We also play requests from the Cardiothoracic and Vascular wards of the Heart and Lung Centre, which are collected just before we go on the air.
For the last 2 years, I have promised to bring you audio samples of the programme via this page. It is a promise I have yet to fulfil, but believe me I will do it, goddammit!
I will endeavour to post playlists here on a regular basis, which I've also promised to do but, err keep forgetting, such is the distracting nature of the internet.
