We are a music networking organisation, leading the way by working with the local community to stimulate growth, inspire, and share knowledge. We offer practical based industry experience and are not genre specific.

The Music Network has pulled together a community of independent music organisations, based in the West Midlands. Established in 2000, we offer access to some of the most innovative and exciting new contemporary music being produced today.

The aims of The Music Network are:

To provide and facilitate Networking Opportunities through regular monthly meetings and events. You are all invited to these meetings so sign up for our newsletter and get instructions on how to participate.

To bring together all strands of the West Midlands music industry, and to encourage creative partnerships to achieve stronger representation through working as an intentional community.

To maintain a point of contact that offers a gateway to the local music community and to promote the West Midlands Music industry to a local, national and international audience.

To promote a local music information network

Load up your own MP3 or hear the best of the rest from Birmingham and the West Midlands area here for free:

The Music Network organises a NETWORKING EVENT on the last Thursday of each month, 4-6pm at The UCE Technology and Innovation Centre(TIC), Millennium Point, Curzon Street, Birmingham, B4 7XG.
(directions/info tel: 08712 262725)

The meeting is open to all involved in Birmingham Music who wish to network.

The Music Network organises the meeting for the benefit of music related businesses in the West Midlands region. If you have news to report, a presentation to give, an event to promote, any new points for discussion, a pitch to make, business cards or flyers to hand round, an appeal for help, advice or guidance or even if you just want the free tea and biscuits and some quality entertainment...you are all invited.

Please don't write to us, come to one of our monthly meetings instead. The meetings are worth more than corresponding by post and you get to meet people face to face with Tea, Coffee and even chocolate biscuits provided.

The Music Network is a voluntary, not for profit, social enterprise organisation seeking charitable status. "we", "our" and "us" means The Music Network.

If you really, really have to email us then try info at birminghammusicnetwork.com but don't expect a reply if you don't regularly attend the meetings.

The Catapult Club, Iron Man Records and The Music Network bring you:

Stanley Brinks at The Jug of Ale, Moseley, Birmingham on march 14th 2008.
(aka Andre herman Dune) Tickets will be £7 on the door or £5 in advance. Doors 8pm.

Stanley Brinks is the new identity of André Herman Düne, original member of the "Herman Düne" trio. He also recorded and played shows in Europe, the UK and the US under various other names: Ben Dope, Ben Haschish, Klaus Bong, John Trawling, John Andreas, Lord Stanislas... Now based in Berlin, he's mostly recording and playing as a solo act.
StanleyBrinksBirmingham140308
<!--more-->Review: "Having toured and recorded all over under different guises ranging from Ben Dope to Klaus Bong to John Andreas, this former member of the French anti-Folk Herman Dune trio has done it again: step forward the now Berlin-based Stanley Brinks. New single ‘Fox Trot’ is dark and broody, lurching forward like the pissed fall guy in a 1950s crime caper; Brinks’ lyrics are exquisite, slowly painting his story with effortless flamboyance ("My father was a doctor but he played the guitar/On the day that you are born you know who you are"). He states his intentions: "The only thing I learnt was what no-one said to me/You better live now and stop getting ready." The results could prove intriguing."
