   About The Nace Family
"Sounding like a Carter Family reunion that finds the young 'uns peppered with peyote, Michael Nace and the Nace Family resurrect the back-porch sing-along tradition as if filtered though an Appalachian dream. With plucking banjos and a blaze of fiddles, mandolins, and the occasional hurdy gurdy (?!), Nace and his siblings harmonize with a lilt and sway that incorporates traditional folk, old-time country, and more than a hint of gospel revival."
-- Amplifier

"'Good Work Of The Dead' is a renegade, dust covered, orgy of finger-picking...like Spritualized performing in a ghost town radio station"
-- Americana UK

NEW RELEASE From The Nace Family, to be Released on 01/08/08....

Hello From the Lost State of Franklin (EP) --

After the release of their groundbreaking Neo-Trad LP The Good Work of the Dead in 2006, The Nace Family will reunite to further develop their unique take on traditional American folk music with their second effort, tenatively-titled Hello From the Lost State of Franklin. The EP is expected to feature 6 to 8 traditional American folk tunes (as opposed to Nace's own compositions which dominate Good Work) reprocessed through the Nace Family's peculiar blend of hillbilly, proto-punk, psychedelic, and musique concrete sensibilities.

The EP will be released on Ionik Records as a predominantly iTunes/internet-only offering, with a very limited, very special press run of CDs available exclusively through the Ionik website. Be sure to check the MySpace page as well as ionikrecords.com for further news updates and previews of the next record from the elusive Nace Family.

LOL this is crazy! And it only works if you have Internet Explorer (I think). You have to go to www . retwistic . com (no spaces) and then after it loads you need to hit the back button or else the funny video won't come up. If that doesn't work then hit the forward button instead.

What a shame - your player doesn't seem to be working today. But when it was, last week, I heard hints of The Voyage Out in some of the chord changes and harmonies. Lovely stuff!
