Sounds Like
quiet noises, auditory hallucinations, and imagined vibrations.
We are the Nanobots. Someday nanotechnology will trim your nose hairs, dust your TV screen, and organize your sock drawer. For now, though, Nanobots make sounds. For you.
The Nanobots perform freeform noise -- with a twist: it's quiet. Found sound and found instruments are the focus, tinnitus is the enemy, accidental pop and familiar, receding noises are the usual result. Like moth wings, when you grasp the sound it spins out of control and flies into a lightbulb. Oops. Don't try so hard, let the sound grasp you instead!
The Nanobots play noise music as a choice, not as an affiliation, affectation, or style. To different listeners, our music has different antecedents but we choose to occupy the "noise" genre rather than "new music," "soundscape," "ambient," or any other such clearing-house terminology for sonic exploration: it frees us from any sort of academic concerns and allows us to slouch around in dark gray hoodies at basement shows.
On tape, the recording/editing/mixing process itself is used as a part of song genesis. Live, no such arranging is permitted -- we play what we have, using only the tools at hand, many of which are non-musical in origin.
In theory, live performance consists of "constructing" sound, studio recording consists of "deconstructing" sound. We aren't purists about anything so don't worry if we seem to be mislabeling our ideas. We owe a huge debt to 20th century music and to the DIY spirit attempting an overturn of all the arts.

"The Nanobots pantomime a creeper maelstrom, occasionally sparsely suggesting scraps of melody before the duo shifts into white noise, black noise, amped whispers and barely audible static that seems to be continuously imploding. This is headphone music, this is noise music you can clean the house by, music for lovers by lovers -- the sound of the twentieth century forgotten and sneering, and the new century smiling back openly." -- It Takes A Village To Make Records
