Six months ago, I had a sweet attentive boyfriend in a nice polished unassuming Austin folk band, who called me just to ask how my day was. But these days Brian, along with his pals Kivett and Hudson, has joined the legions of rock proprietors before him in loosening his bf commitments in favor of isolated music making with the boys. The whole band moved to Wimberley, TX to inhabit a small cabin where they worked together, ate together, slowly went crazy together and produced something incendiary. Kind of like the Unabomber...
Brian first heard Hudson while they were in college. He stalked him, accosted him, convinced him that he was nothing without him, and they started a folk band called The Hudsons. Years later, they were sitting on a porch in their comfortable folk music rocking chairs chewing on pieces of straw and watching some grass grow when they received testimony from God to start a rock band and spend less time with their girlfriends as soon as possible.
But they needed help because they hadn’t rocked in so long. They enlisted The Professor, Kivett Bednar. A childhood friend of Hudson’s, Kivett is a well-trained guitarist and sound engineer, a graduate of the Berklee College of Music in Boston, and an ardent proponent of Ayn Rand’s objectivism, which fits into rock music like Alice into a rabbit hole. With Kivett’s help, The Nasty Clan was forged in that secret Texas shanty and my calm cool relationship existence was beaten to a bloody pulp with a blackthorn shillelagh.
My only consolation is that The Nasty Clan is a confident conspiracy of violent tunes and careful lyrics inspired by true events of human compassion and regret. Its musical electric army robots will capture your soul and you will say “can I have my soul back?” and it will shake its head slowly from right to left signifying that under no circumstances will your soul be returned to you today.
Fast, fun, tick tock rock. The Nasty Clan.
There are no groupies yet but they’ll come soon… like maggots to a corpse.
With an axe to grind and a shoe to sell,
Brian’s Girlfriend

Hello from Dublin. Having some good times over here. Finally getting my internal clock straightened out. Blues Mafia is in the Blastbeat contest today. Wish them luck.
Whew! Just back in from Thanksgiving (breathe) and now I'm here. We've got a fair amount of flexibility this week. What does your schedule look like for a tour?
My ears like what they hear. Keep up the good work. The Fairmount in Fort Worth is a cool venue. Maybe we can play a rock n roll show together at some point. We will be at Stubbs on Nov 1st.
Best Nasty Clan show to date. Thanks to everyone who showed up on such short notice. And thanks to Joey for beating the hell out of his drum kit. Hey Joey, I think that snare drum said something about your mom...
Check out Ryan Vaughan's pictures of the occasion. EP release around the corner...
