Bio
'Stung' is no more! The first Nearly Brothers album is now due for release in Australia through Shock on September 24th. and has changed title to 'You Can't Hide From Your Yesterdays'. Read more - THE NEARLY BROTHERS YOU CAN’T HIDE FROM YOUR YESTERDAYS Mark Snarski’s yesterdays were as lead singer and songwriter in bands like Chad’s Tree and the Jackson Code back in the late 80’s and early 90’s of Perth and Sydney. The Nearly Brothers is his first musical project since disbanding The Jackson Code in 1996 after lugging an amp up some stairs post-gig led him to decide enough was enough. He relocated to Madrid with no intention of playing music but found with the passing of time that songs had started materializing in his mind, fingers and vocal chords. Snarski is a songwriter - it’s what he does. ‘You Can’t Hide From Your Yesterdays’ is the drought breaking offering from the star-studded line-up he has assembled, and the title aptly describes a newfound acceptance of his vocation. And what a reintroduction to Snarski’s world it is. The project was originally conceived as Mancini, Morricone, Wolf and me, the idea being that if Henry Mancini, Ennio Morricone and Howlin’ Wolf wouldn’t have liked the song it would be ditched. Snarski brought in fellow Madrid resident TB Allen to work on song arrangements and when, time came for recording, engaged the great Martyn Casey on bass (The Bad Seeds, Triffids, Grinderman), Bongo Fury from The Jackson Code on drums and the services of the ubiquitous Mick Harvey (The Birthday Party, Bad Seeds, PJ Harvey) in the role of producer and extra instrumentalist. Through all the twists and turns it has remained true to it’s original concept - with a heady mix of late 60’s rock, Isaac Hayes, Marvin Gaye, Elvis, Beefheart and 70’s NYC new wave thrown in – it’s still “Mancini, Morricone, Wolf and Snarski”. ‘You Can’t Hide From Your Yesterdays’ wears it’s heart and soul on it’s sleeve and is full of the promise of bold tomorrows. -

Love the tracks.....
I'd really like to thank whoever chose to change the title from Stung to what it is. It almost looked like you guys were searching for Sting fans which what seemed a post-mortem of his finest work of which there is none.
thanks
Can't tell you how much I like your album- Can't believe I got to see you at The Borderline. That was one heck of a great night. Please come back again soon.
Since for some time now, I have you splashed on my front page in my top friends (no less) and since, I might add, you have had the unheard of benefit of meeting my best friend in the flesh before even I, it would only be right that you play in Sydney once AT THE VERY LEAST.
Nuff said.
Thank you.
Your ever supportive Viola xxxx
thrilling me!
any chance of copies being available at the Barbican on the 9th? Unfortunately I fly out on Saturday to Melbourne for a week and miss out on the 10th show, dammit! thanks
Erm, not quite sure what to think really.
I need to touch and feel it sincerely like a stress ball, so give the Aussies a bit more at least pls. ;-)
