The founding members of The Neon Calm met in 1999 at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. In May of 2002, they selected nine songs to make up their debut record, an emotional tour de force entitled My Perfect Muse. Delighting fans and critics alike, My Perfect Muse drew listeners in with its mix of hypnotic melody and glorious noise, topped off by insightful lyrics centering around the album's main theme: the deterioration of relationships.

In the summer of 2004, The Neon Calm relocated from Boston to Los Angeles and added drummer Mike Baker to the lineup that already included Marc M. Cogman, Rob Leifer, Frogs, and Daniel Damico. After a year in the studio with producer Aris Archontis, The Neon Calm released One More Rocket Summer, their second album. Musically picking up where their first record left off, One More Rocket Summer again showcased the smart songwriting and impressive musicianship of its predecessor. Again Cogman's melodies and lyrics drew the listeners in, but now with a whole new set of stories to tell.

For seven years, The Neon Calm gained the reputation of putting on one of the best live shows around. Finally in October of 2006, the band members decided to part ways to explore other musical avenues. In 2007, lead singer Marc M. Cogman released his first solo album Welcome to the Danger Show which also featured Frogs on electric bass. Frogs, in addition to playing with Marc, joined Oh Crap! Ninjas, recording and producing their self-titled LP in 2008.

In May of 2008, Marc, Frogs, and Riz regrouped and began discussing another Neon Calm album of entirely new music. Stay tuned for details.
