Who I'd like to meet:
Volunteers
Safe Home Providers
Community members needed statewide to provide 1-14 nights emergency shelter in their homes. A sleep sofa or a spare room will be a safe space for someone fleeing abuse. You provide some emotional support and meals in the evening and we will work the person on their immediate needs and future plans. Training, supervision, 24-hour emergency back-up, and a daily stipend are provided.
Hotline
Assist callers with emotional support, safety planning, and advocacy. Each shift in 1x a week for 6 hours and you do not need to come into an office—you can answer the hotline from home or school dorm.
Advocacy
Assist with court, legal advocacy, and provide
support to safe home guests and other folks we are assisting. Provide emotional support, crisis
intervention, and safety planning on the hotline.
Outreach & Education
Flyer and table at events and Pride. Develop new materials including brochures and manuals. Solicit, write articles, copy edit
