The New 76ers are an acoustic folk-rock "family" trio. Our sound comes from a collective respect for acoustic and electric music. Being family, we rely on instincts to meld the vocals into harmonies and let them take the spotlight. Deep-rooted in southern musical heritage, our original music aspires to move you, physically and spiritually. Our mission is to give love through our music, and in this sense, we consider ourselves revolutionaries, hence the name. We believe that music is a force to compel change, and we strive to let our music speak for itself.
Here's a little blurp written about some of our raw performances...
"Last week-end I went to hear the Mayhaws at the Warehouse. The surprise opening act was the New 76ers who were standing in front of the stage, nothing plugged in, no mic, and they owned the room." -Jim Crozier
"I was lost in the performance, and man did they really nail it. If you were like me and have never heard The New 76ers get yourself over to their MySpace page, find a show date, and enjoy. I can’t wait to hear their originals live." -Five and Dimers

The sound was superb. You brought tears to my eyes a few times.
I vote for keeping the beard, Brian! The vocal soundwaves get caught in the hair and swirl around in there for an even more resonant vibration! Good theory, no?
Start off a set with Angel From Montgomery!!?? You have to give guys like me at least a 4 beer head start. Across the Great Divide was just unfair, Atlantic City, Senor (Tales of Yankee Power)... Get the hell away from my CD collection. I like Old Man too. It was nice to meet you guys, and I'm glad your Uncle had a nice comfortable couch to relax on and I mean reeeeeeeeeelax.
Hey guys- Thanks for the add! We're looking forward to hearing you at the Florida Earth Day Jam AND at the Bob Dylan night! Your cover of 'Oh Atlanta' sounds great!

Hey now NEW 76ers! Thanks for the great show this past Saturday night at the Warehouse. I came in when y'all were playing that Jonathan Edwards cover, "Sittin Around the Shanty"...you had me hooked from the start. I've got some pics posted from that night. You're welcome to any of em. They're not professional quality, but I did get in a few lucky shots. Peace, Bill
