The New Alligators were a Kansas City based band that performed Grateful Dead music. They were active as a performing unit from September 2006 to October 2007. The band has decided to acknowledge their successes and respect their limitations by amicably disbanding. Their last performance was in Lawrence, KS on October 5.
Here's how it started: during the summer Festival season of 2006, Darrell and Brad were introduced to bassist John Hubbard by Chuck Baker, drummer and business manager for the group Chill Factor. While rehearsing Chill Factor for a second stage appearance at Schwagstock 31, John mentioned that his current group Mason Chasers, a Grateful Dead tribute band, were getting ready for changes and possible hibernation. Darrell and Brad sat in with a version of Mason Chasers in late July of 2006 (see the "Odds and Ends" photo album), and Darrell sat in with the Chasers again at the Jerry Garcia Memorial Tribal Stomp show at Davey's Uptown Rambler's Club on the first Saturday of August, 2006.
The five-piece line-up of The New Alligators was agreed to shortly thereafter. The hustle and bustle of building a band started shortly thereafter, and in spring and early summer of 2007 the group began growing. Keyboardist Rick Chael was brought into the scene via his old homies John, Chris and Mack, and Kasey Rausch started singing with us in July 2007.
As of February, 2008, Kasey and Darrell continue to work together under the Kasey Rausch and Friends banner, sometimes as a duo, other times with a large group. The remaining alumni have reformed under the name Diamond Eyed Jack. Their credits, as listed on the Diamond Eyed Jack MySpace page are - Brad Boerger (guitar, vocals), Rick Chael (guitar, keys, vocals), John Hubbard (bass, vocals), Chris Symmonds (drums, percussion, vocals), Mack Tilton (drums, percussion).

DARE TO BELIEVE... That you are a wonderful, unique person. That you are a once-in-all-history event. That it's more than a right, it's your duty, to be who you are. That life is not a problem to solve, but a gift to cherish. And you'll be able to stay one up on what used to get you down.
3 generations seems so small. i need to convince my tiny grama to put up a myspace page... and one in memory of grannie, too. then it'll feel more natural. ;0)
