‘The New Giants’ are a rock band that hail from east London, England. The Giants have developed their own brand of rock, drawing together influences such as Neil Young, REM, Crazy Horse, Teenage Fanclub, The Who and Tom Petty. The Giants have been playing for a number of years now, and have stayed together through the arrival of many kids, various solo projects, and recording and touring with other bands. The main thing that has kept the band together all these years is the love of good time, guitar based rock and gigging live, where a wide range of influences continue to permeate their performances.
Hey Nige, for some reason myspace won't let me message back 'backstage', anyways i'll pop a demo in the mail tomorrow for ya. The RF show is the one I'm going to, looking forward to seeing them in a small venue again, haven't got the new album yet but the single was really cool.
You may like a band that's in our top friends list Northern Whiskey Syndicate, my friends band from Michicgan, real old REM/Uncle Tupelo feel to them.
Four more little sonic gems for your August pleasure are now available on the site. Blitzen Trapper, Boulder Acoustic Society, Jay Brannan and The Wiyos. Yet another fine quartet even though we say so ourselves as picked them out.
ah, the Driftwood gig in St.Agnes has sadly been canceled, The other band are playing on the 10th but we're somewhere else that day. Still we've played there before and will play there again. Have you thought of asking your friends to get you a gig there? long way but maybe a weekend of a couple of venues down here. Hope things are going well for you all, Puppyfat's doing good, playing alot and having fun! take care chris
Hey guys, thanks for your compliments. Likewise, i was stumblin around myspace and found your page, really nice songs and great set of influences, i can hear mr.fararr in there but not in an obvious way. Ha ha, how'd you guess I'm a big RF fan?! Hopefully i'll catch you guys at some point live, fingers crossed we make it out of cornwall within the year! Good to have you as friends, hope the weekends been good!
Sorry me and the old geezer couldn't make the gig today but it's not every day you get a new addition to the family and it was today my big sis brought little Sophie Grace into the world! Hope it went well anyway and we'll catch you again soon no doubt - I'm doing a gig at the Bitter End in Romford on April 25th, would you be up for playing that?
Hey guys, thanks for adding me. And thankyou very much for your kind words, I'm pleased you liked my music. I haven't got any gigs coming up, been busy concentrating on writing more tunes at the moment, I'll be sure to let you know when I'm playing though. As for the Prozac, I played it a few times with Bob when it was at the Plough Walthamstow, haven't been to the new venue yet though. I'm digging your tunes, keep it up, I'll have to come and check you guys out soon. See you down the road, Dekko.
Hey guys, thanks for adding me. Tunes sound great! If you get a chance to have a listen to mine, let me know what you think. Keep up the good work, see you down the road, Dekko.
Thanks guys! The gig went really well, all of us really enjoyed it. To quote the mighty Led Zep "It's been a long time since i rock n rolled!!" Cheers, from all in HV
