Influences
Our influences vary from production to production, depending on the subject matter and target audience! Classical, Jazz, Blues, and even Rock, Pop, Hip-Hop, and RAP when it fits the story! We are a family of musicians from various backgrounds, but the one feature that we all share is that we LOVE music and performing! We also share a strong desire to communicate our important message to our listeners! Opera must flourish!

As musicians, we have noticed that opera has the very real possibility of becoming an endangered species. This does not have to be the case! Our singers are well-trained classical musicians, yet we know that it is necessary to evolve and grow with the times! Our operas incorporate a wonderful array of different styles of music to attract many listeners.

The New Opera strives to be entertaining, educational, touching, interactive and exciting! believe that opera can once again become popular an art form as it was in the past. Many years ago, live opera performances were a pastime for individuals of every social circle. was actually an important factor in unifying classes.) It was as popular as the movies are today. Truly! And we believe that this can case even now. All it takes is a great amount creativity, energy and skill. We’ve got it!

So take this journey with us into the future of opera. Learn things about music, art and yourself that you never knew!

Founded at the beginning of 2007, we are a group of Atlanta-based singers and wonderful musicians who are interested in looking ahead. While we love and value the music of the past, we also see the importance of enthusiastically moving into the future. We have come together to do just that. We plan to enhance, or change, the general public's view of opera, what it is and what it can be.

We are NEW OPERA, opera for the 21st century and beyond, a fresh new approach to a 400-year-old artistic medium with the goal of reaching the widest audience possible and ensuring the continuing legacy of an art form that we love and cherish. Our works are original music and text, composed specifically for our goals and audiences by award-winning Russian-American composer, Misha V. Stefanuk. Our subjects are thoroughly researched, and our stories carefully planned to communicate the messages, which we find enriching and important, as well as entertaining!

Another important facet of our company is that we work as a family. We have all been in the business long enough to know that this is not always the case, and we plan to make a change for the better in that department. As clich.. as it may sound, we believe in teamwork and we embody that idea. We all come together with great enthusiasm to bring you staged works that come straight from our hearts! We cater to a vast array of audience members, and we always welcome feedback to help us further develop our art and grow as performers.

So, will you like us? Well, do you like opera? Then, yes! Do you like musical theater, dramatic theater, concerts and other live performances? Do you listen to upbeat music in the car to keep you going through the day? Of course you do! So, you'll love us! We are all of the above!

"But I don't really care for opera...," you say. Well just wait, we will show you a new approach to it that will pull you in! And, no, we will not make you sit for 3 to 4 hours and listen to us! We strive for beauty and excellence with a side of brevity!

…..The cat’s antlers were decorated with care,
She hoped that St. Nicholas soon would be there,
“Save me”, she cried, “from this embarrassment please!
There’s really no sense embellishing kitties.”

Santa freed the kitten, and as he drove out of sight,
He called out:
"Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good-night."

All the best to you and yours!
