If The New Siberians are any proof, Burlington still boasts a spectacular local music scene. These gorgeous songs have rekindled my erstwhile desire to plug into the sonic emissions from that pretty college town on the side of a hill...When they’re rocking, The New Siberians flaunt a definite Pixies influence, especially on the grittier ’1965’ and ’In The Garden,’ which could have found a place beside ’Where Is My Mind’ from Surfer Rosa.

-- BOSTON --

Casey Rea - SEVEN DAYS

Big hooks, strong melodies and ragged guitars.....Hipsters who can’t accept that well-ordered guitar rock has a place in music might call this record “Dad-rock.” The New Siberians definitely show their age, but they do so earnestly and unapologetically, which gives their music an authenticity not found in cool-kid bands.

-- VERMONT --
ROOTSTIME.BE

-- BELGIUM --

Come see what a couple critics, a few Vermonters and so many Belgians already know:

If for some reason you can’t come see us, how about purchasing 1 song from iTunes on our behalf, 99 cents, support our upcoming NEW release

   About The New Siberians

Ted Pappadopoulos, member of Go To Blazes (Glitterhouse/East Side Digital) and Brendan Devitt, a founding member of Burlington's own legendary Ninja Custodian join forces with drummer extraodinaire and "gad about" Simon Plumpton to make up The New Siberians.

Our CD is a product of 2007 recording sessions with producer Tom Dube (Richard Thompson, Juliana Hatfield, Marc Cohn) at Hi N Dry in Cambridge MA (Mark Sandman) and One Camp Street/Fort Apache (Pixies, Dinosaur Jr, Lemonheads) Cambridge MA,

The album features rangy rock riffs spiced by saxophones provided by Dana Colley (Morphine, TWINEMEN), subtle acoustic songs peddled by the mandolin of Jimmy Ryan (Mark Spencer, Blood Oranges) help to define a broad spectrum of influence and accomplishment. The New Siberians live show expands and contracts from 3 members to five to include rhodes piano, sometimes banjo, sometimes two guitar straight rock attack, sometimes all at once.

Dancing and drinking is required.

Nick Bowers, Sound Recordings isn’t just a live sound recording studio. Located in a 200 year old 3 bedroom bed and breakfast style farmhouse on 40 acres in Wolcott, Vermont, the project studio of NBSR offers great rates, a relaxed atmosphere, and the seclusion needed to lay down those most righteous of tracks. And just like the mobile unit, there is never an initial mixing charge at Nick Bowers, Sound Recordings.
