It all started back in 1972 when cousins Jerry Ricci and Jimmy Evans decided to form local pop cover band and named it after a horse called "TrickShot". They audition and accept John sabatino and Gary Oxton on guitars, Mitch Packer ..boards and Sax and Mario Cabrera on Vocals and Percussion. Shortly after in 1973 the band changed to an all dance format and soon became one the Top Tri-State are club bands.
With the release of their single "Sexxy Soul" on the legendary Chess Records, 1975 became an important year in their career as the song charted in numerous Cities and Japan. It wasn't long before "Sexxy Soul" was a staple in every Long Island Disco!
In 1976 the band relocated to Florida minus founding member Jerry Ricci and continued on for two more years before disbanding. Jimmy Evans continued on in Florida with a band called Trix.
Back on Long Island, Jerry Ricci followed his passion of playing the drums and decided to open up a small music store calling it The Long Island Drum Center. This store, now run by his brother Dennis, has continued to grow over the past 30 years with a thriving retail and Mail Order/Internet business keeping drummers happy, around the world.
In 2006, unsatisfied with his current musical outlets, Jerry felt it was time to reform Trick Shot. Jerry called his old buddy Butch Poveromo and they both started picking the musicians of their choice. Butch (Percussion) brought ..boardist George Bitzer and Jim Cherry while Jerry called Irv Berner (Guitar) and Doug Jackson (Bass). The summer of 2007 saw George and Butch leave because of scheduling conflicts and the band once again regrouped to the current lineup. Irv brought in his writing partner John Bennett (Percussion and vocals), while Jerry brought in Steve Sollog ..boards. Jim Cherry was replaced last year with Jack Kunz on Lead Vocals and Doug, who also had a work conflict was replaced with Jim Dolega (Bass) who played in a previous band with both Jerry and Irv. Summer of 2008 see's more changes! John Bennett and Jim Dolega leave and are replaced with Frank Thumhart on Bass, and a great voice, and Lloyd Lindberg ..s. Lloyd had previously worked with Jerry and Irv in the Sweet Sound Band.
Out Love Hate!
GIVE PEACE A CHANCE is not just an outdated catch phrase!! It's still as important as when it was first written!!
We can still all do this.....and if you want to be part of the solution...
...then do consider adding my new song, "Think Peace" to your profile. It's easy to do, just go to my profile and right under the song title on the player is a place to choose "ADD".
The more that this song gets heard, the more that people will stop for a moment, interrupt their routine, and think about peace. If people do this, even just for a moment, there is an effect! So, YOU can be part of the solution....
And if you do add the song to your profile, PLEASE be sure to let me know so I can drop you a note and thank you personally! ;)
Think Peace! Sing Peace! BE peace! Much Love, Andrew
Ever wondered what to do in the event of a nuclear threat?
A while ago I found stuff that inspired me to make this film:
Living Under the Shadow of the Nuclear Umbrella
Both artistic (ensure you get the background music!) and educational, it primarily comprises official British government civil defence advice.
Though source materials are quite aged, much remains relevant today.
