The Nice Device might be the best live band from around these parts. The people who were lucky enough to be familiar with the new material discussed it often. Is the new EP too poppy? Too polished? Too something? I guess that depends on who you’re asking. I have no problem with a band who puts together a recording that is “too perfect” while keeping their live show obviously rooted a little deeper. If you had any question of this bands intentions while they threw down covers of Division Of Laura Lee’s Black City and The Jesus & Mary Chain’s I Hate Rock & Roll then I don’t know if I can help you.
