Sounds Like
Ah, to be young, bored and sexually frustrated. (As opposed to old and...never mind.) Like a lot of young ‘ns, Denver's Nicotine Fits channel all those dead-end minimum wage jobs and hormonal aches into loud rock & roll. The seven tunes on Like the Curse burst with Detroit energy and Minneapolis hooks like pus from popped pimples, as singer Pete Sisson bitches about Teenage Wads and Girls Like Heroin to Me, how he's Drinkin My Life Away, how he Just Can't Control Her and especially about how he needs to Shake Me Some Action. I wouldn't wish teenage boredom and blue balls on anybody, but if being unfulfilled keeps these boys' musical madness peaking, I hope they never get laid. - MICHAEL TOLAND - SLEAZEGRINDER
Raw. Loud. Fast. These and other common images of rock's lurid past jump to mind as The Nicotine Fits burst eardrums and peel the paint off walls with a massive onslaught of guitar driven sound. First in line to lick the dirt off the cement and spit it back in your face. The Nicotine Fits raise hell with their pedigree style, a mix of The Stooges, Radio Birdman, Black Sabbath & The MC5.
Like The Curse, the six pieces debut, captures the energy and ferocity of a live Nicotine Fits show. Twin guitars, ROARING bass, layered with screaming keys and pure vocal swagger, are backed with a towering wall of rhythm. The backbeat of these frenzied yet matured songs remains tight, driving home the group's vintage rock meets punk sound.

You boys going to SXSW in March at all? Hollows might be playing there, and if so I'm hitching a ride. There's no one else I'd rather party in Texas with.
