minimalist sketches of scenes, imaginings, memories…i don’t think they are ever intended to be the whole story. i’m not even sure they are finished, or indeed if they could be. they are just moments captured,
recorded however i can at the time - usually in something of a quiet and ramshackle way (to lesser or greater degrees…)
i'm enjoying using this page to come across many interesting people and their music…thanks for visiting.

There comes a time in every musician’s life when the urge to try something new overpowers them. The time came for Starving Pets. Recorded at 'Noplacelikehome' studio throughout 2006, this collection of songs will cover your heart like a velvet blanket. Sparse vocals, acoustic strumming and animal keyboard sounds draw you in making you listen to every detail till you are engulfed in beauty.
Stickered cdr packaged in a clear pvc case together with a cover featuring artwork by Stephen & Andy. Includes two inserts featuring credits & a short bio.
Hydrochoerus hydrochaeris is easily my favourite capybara song. In fact it's one of my favourite things at the moment. When are you going to send me that mp3?!
Capybara! Great recording. Is it the new microphone?! The college I was at in the US had some capybara-like creatures called nutria living on campus. They're very strange. I didn't see a single beaver the entire year i was in THE Beaver State but I saw my fair share of nutria...

'porthmeor' reminds me of walking along the coast between St Ives and Zennor, stumbling across stone circles and derelict houses on the edge of the cliffs... incredible.
stayed there for a long weekend a few years back; used to sit on the point near Porthmeor listening to the waves or plugging in and chilling to 'ocean songs' by dirty three... magic
i tried a thumbpick for playing bass years ago. i was going thru a phase of dropping a lot of picks! now i play with my fingers and thumb so it's not a problem any more!
Middle Eastern bluegrass, hey? That sounds like an idea... There's a whole bunch of klezmer bluegrass out there but I'm not so keen on it. I also had a recording of some qawali with some very bluegrassy mandolin, as bizarre as it sounds. I'll try to dig that out for you. Thanks for your enthusiasm, man. Good to get your opinion, as always, even though there's never any criticism! I enjoy researching my song titles just as much! Take it easy. Nick
