  • Bio

The children of dragons, gods, and sexy models, The Nod is a band of destiny. Scratch that, The Nod is THE band of Destiny. Destiny and Prophecy. Yes. .... Before joining forces, the members of The Nod honed their skills with good people in other good bands. Dave was a force for Detroit's Nativ Rage. Jess and Ben got drunk and forgot song names with Denver's Half of Zero. Jimmy played all over the world in a lot of good bands then stooped to get dirty with us. Todd was a heckler. .... But those things are in the past. Actually, Todd is still a heckler. But it doesn't matter because as The Nod fulfills its troo Destiny of Prophecy, none of this will matter. .... So come see history being made and destiny being fulfilled. See The Nod. .... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ............ ....Myspace Layouts.. at Pimp-My-Profile.com / ..Winter emboss.. ..

  • Sounds Like

..With a lot of heavy rock leaning toward doomy and psychedelic, it's refreshing to hear an EP like the Nod's Twisted Romance, where solid, catchy hooks are favored over sludgy riffs. On the opener, "White City," the band subverts the stoner-rock template by being putting less emphasis on doom and more on energetic dynamism, and "Fix My Ride" infuses a song about cars with science fiction without sounding stupid. The standout title track doesn't stick with any formula, a subtle reminder that the Nod doesn't depend on conventional song structures. More than anything, though, the disc is proof positive that bluesy metal in the right hands and with intelligent lyrics can seem fresh and compelling rather than worn out and tired.
