hey i miss you too, its been so annoying with out the internet. i can access it at uni, which is better than nothing. my computer died the other day, there was a power surge, and the hard drive over heated and a chip on the board melted or something...so now i have no internet or computer at home :(
Starting on Aug 4th 8:00am voting beings for the KFC Pride 360º Hitmaker Contest. The purpose of this contest is to create an original track for a compilation album. The key words Family, Community, Heritage, and Individual have to be used. Here is the great news. The compilation CD will be sold for $7.50 with all proceeds being donated to Little Kids Rock http://www. littlekidsrock. org . This organization buys instruments for children and provides free music lessons.
I wrote 3 songs and submitted them. They are available for you to listen and vote on. The first song is titled “You’re Not Alone”.
It has a message that speaks to individuals who may have made mistakes in life and are trying to pick up the pieces and press on to a brighter future. The second song is titled “Only Twenty”.
The purpose of this song is shed light on the growing epidemic of our youth being incarcerated. 130,000 youth are caught up in the United States judicial system. For every 100 that are released only twenty are successful in make something of them selves. 80% find them selves caught in a revolving door, in and out of prison.
Much of my music knowledge was acquired though music programs offered by the public school system. Many school systems are cutting such programs because of lack of funding. Little Kids Rock has proven to be a wonderful program for music education. You can make a difference just logging into KFC Pride 360 and voting on my submissions.
