"The North...The fucking North. Quite a lot to say about these five Yorkshire lads. 5 months by and these young lads are gathering their followers. Ever since their first gig, at the back end of December, they've raised the standards for young bands in the area up to a new level. The response after their gig was nothing but positive, the organisers loved them and the crowd loved them. The music is not your average uninventive-indie-pop rubbish that's plaguing the current music scene either, matter off fact its a lot more creative. It has the edge of class, talent and glitter. Hints of Ashcroft, The Music, and a slight wander towards The Seahorses. This fresh legacy of Barnsley sound is guaranteed to cause a stir within the music scene around the area, a definate band to see live as they wont let you down"

"The Band pulled it out of the bag here. The swagger, the look and the sound. With Gilroy holding the crowd in the palm of his hand throughout the set the band went down a storm. Full of energy, full of good tunes. Welcome to THE NORTH"
"With a crowd gathering in O2 Academy Sheffield's Academy 2 The North went on stage. Having never played before at the Academy the band handled the room well and within a few songs they had the audience edging closer to the stage.
Increasing tempo and interest as the band progressed through their set saw them gaining even more fans as they went on. Finishing on an electric high and leaving the audience asking for more, nobody can argue that the North weren't the right choice of main support for The Rabbits. The band walked from the stage to the applause worthy of their set."
"As these lads played at the O2 Academy the Lead singer had to ask the crowd to calm down as management were threatening to pull the plug on them for health and safety reasons. This is because the crowd go ballistic for The North's massive amount of energy and solid wall of sound. Tipping their Yorkshire cap towards Stone Roses indie anthems mixed with a new direction of their own, this is a noisy band not to be missed"
