The Story So Far...
Summer 2008 Completing a fantastic residency set up by Stuart Avery, and selling out a legendary Friday night at Manchester Academy in June, the lads - now being hotly tipped by press across Britain - regroup to record groundbreaking new material before going off to break London and the rest UK & Ireland. Final lineup into place as several respected, known, and pro musicians arrive to take the project to the endgame of the major labels.
June 2008 Debut single "Surrounded by Angels (Love All Around) released on ITC Records. Quickly registers maximum popularity on itunes. Seminal Academy 3 weekender headliner gig in Manchester. Full page in NME, and clothes deal signed with Lyle & Scott!
May 2008 Final lineup into place with former Easterhouse (Morrisseys favourite band) and Badly Drawn Boy drummer Dave Verner weighing in alongside Stockport legend Dean Bailey and arguably Manchester's best guitaist Paul Bowe. Tipped up by mainstream MEN musos and the alternative manchestermusic.co.uk webzine. Last of their "legendary" M1 Sat Night Green Room residencies before the seminal Academy 3 gig. By now "the band everyones talking about" (manchestermusic.co.uk). April 2008 M.E.N. stated band are "the best marriage of big brains and musical brawn in Manc music's long history". Soviet Union Records ask the band to gig for them. Fan club set up by early followers on Facebook. Packed Green Room residency follows successful Friday night introduction to the Academy, as Nouvelles headline 'Club' with the Resurrecton DJs to excellent reviews. Sign on own terms to small indie label In The City records. Management team subsequently into place to take through to release of single "Surrounded by Angels (Love All Around)" 2 June.
March 2008 6 months in, the "best new band in Manchester" (Salford 94.4FM , All FM, & Pure FM DJs). Playlisted by city's flagship radio station, Salford 94.4FM. Excellent reception as lads toured the local radio circuit plugging promo, interveiws etc.
Feb 2008 Promo recorded at Rochdale's Studio Studio. Top Manchester promoter Stuart Avery sets up headline weekenders at Academy 4 (4 April), and Academy 3 (Summer) as well as 1st festival, headlining MAPS Dry Bar, and a promoted residency to trendy Green Room in Whitworth St West!
Jan 2008 Invited onto 2nd indie compilation album in 4 weeks, 1st interviews on Pure FM as things start to heat up... various internet radio station airplays. Residency at 'Saturday Night Northern Quarter' underway (www.myspace.com/snnq). Packed out again. Into Top 20 ITC bands by Clash magazine. Named as band to watch by Radio Salford.
Dec 2007 Onto manchestermusic Xmas compilation album, talks with Inspiral Carpets about touring Ireland in 2008. Also top bill at the well filled out 'Northern Quarter Christmas Party' in Manchester.
