| About The Novel Citizen |
The Novel Citizen was formed in late 2004 as four high school friends began meeting to exchange musical ideas, founded in funk, post-punk, and krautrock. In 2006 the band released Reciprocations (EP) and began touring alongside Jeremy Enigk, Nomo, Chris Bathgate, and Mason Proper. While drawing comparisons to the likes of Can, Talking Heads, !!!, and Arcade Fire, the band sold over 500 copies of its EP via touring, independent record shops, and their website. Though The Novel Citizen has seen its share of lineup changes, the band is currently in the final stages of completing its full-length debut. As witnessed in performances and online sneak previews, the band’s album material emphasizes their interest in dance music, while offering an eclectic take on indie rock.
