..."like The Cure taking on The Twang and kicking the shit out of them. If you get the chance to see The Noyze live, do it, they'll take your breath away." - Blah Blah Magazine
"Pod-people of Britain! Hear me when I say: The Noyze are bloody brilliant! Frontman, Ross Turner, has the cocksure swagger of a young Ian Brown and the intense urgency of Joe Strummer. I wasn't sure if he was going to strum his guitar or use it to smash-in my skull-box! His guitar work is intricate and assured; intimate riffs and luxurious solos that do the very best things to your inner ear places. The songs often sprawl into five or six minutes of slow psychedelic swellings and rousing sing-along explosions that leave the back of your neck tingling. The lyrics carry endearing echoes of love, loss, hope and determination, that seem genuinely heartfelt, delivered in a distinctive Reading drawl that draws shamelessly from Gallagher, Bowie and Weller.
As a live band they're dynamite - driving energetically through their set to the delight of their devoted (and fckin' mental) fans. One my top finds for 2007, I can't wait to see them again and hear the new demo, which they say is in the pipeline. If you get the chance, see them, you will never regret it." - CJ Campbell, Free-K Media
“I’m really excited about this band they sum up what 2007’s all about; very geezer, thug. It’s probably the best thing about in this genre since Kicks. For me its what The Twang should sound like. Its real music for real people. I really, really like this band.” Sid Siddle, Velocity Records, 2007.
"The Noyze add a touch of sophistication to the evening - often loud and full on but many times reflective and atmospheric, there's just a hint of Stone Roses here. An acoustic guitar plus a bit of keys gives depth to their set, while the songs often have an earthy, folky quality. Some subtle but nice guitar work makes for a few good solos. This is mostly a full on rock 'n' roll show that goes down a storm with the fans - but there's some considerable depth here. Top action" Neon Promotions, 2007.
The Noyze performed on Linda Serck's BBC Berkshire show, The Session (Nov 4, 2007). They talked about their London gigs, at the Dublin Castle and Barfly, supporting Tim Burgess (The Charlatans). Linda was most interested to hear about what influences The Noyze have, from there musical backgrounds to living in Reading - and Ross bumping into Kele from Bloc Party, Jonny Borrel from Razorlight and Carl Barat from Dirty Pretty Things. The boys also performed acoustic versions of old favourite Cry Baby, and their cracking new tune, Friday Feeling.
There's a tangible buzz growing around The Noyze, with articles popping up in three different publications in as many weeks following their BBC Berkshire performance. A one page article in the Newbury Weekly News, then an interview in Blah Blah Magazine (following a previous demo review), and finally making the cover story of the Reading Chronicle. The lads are in Whitehouse studio the weekend of the 15th Feb, watch out for live recordings of new tunes..They should be on the track player by Sunday 17th Feb.
