Sounds Like
"A voice that could cut through wood at ten paces is the first thing that hits you with The Nuns. Then you start to get the clash and jangle of their guitars. Are they a heavy rock band, an indie band or a mix of the two? They serve up a few questions like this and are all the better for it. Quick paced with head banging potential and some pretty shifty riffs."

About The Nuns [NO LONGER EXIST] [long live the memory]
From the moment the drums opened 'On Top of the Moonraker' my feet started tapping and carried on throughout the entire song. The Nuns are a band making good, old fashioned, indie rock and roll. I was lucky enough to catch them live at In The City and this EP more than lives up to the set I enjoyed then. The lead vocalist is obviously born to front a band. At times gentle and pronounced, at others husky, raw and passionate, the vocals never fail to catch your attention.
The lyrics, and delivery, on '...Moonraker' remind me somewhat of The Libertines and Pete Doherty. No bad thing in this reviewers opinion. You are drawn in to The Nuns' world and trust me, at the end of the tracks, I didn't want to leave.
'We'll Be Fine' showcases the passionate delivery of the singer with a thought provoking, almost bar room tale, of dreams, loneliness and the repeated refrain 'we'll be fine'. In comparison 'The Holiday Era' takes you back to the feet tapping, must dance, rhythms of '...Moonraker'. Screeching guitars, driving drum beats and a cheerful melody combine to make a great closing song to the EP.
On the basis of this CD, and their storming live set at ITC, The Nuns are a band who deserve to go far in 2008. I for one hope they make it.
