The Nutbush Ramblers share a love of Appalachian Mountain music. Though each member is a longtime musician having played everything from R&B to swing, the trio has a special feeling for the rhythms and melodies of these old-time tunes. Harmony singing is a big part of the Nutbush Rambler sound.
Fiddler, Keith Buckner also plays with local swing favorite Martha and the Moodswingers.
Guitarist, Tim Barkley currently also plays with Keith in eclectic folk group The Alley Rabbits.
Banjo picker, Jim Young plays the clawhammer style as he did formerly with another old-time stringband The Butterbeans.
Put the 3 pickers together and you have the makings of some great oldtime country music that recalls a simpler time.
Chilly Winds is the debut CD for the band. Recorded live in the studio with no overdubs at R-Tec Studios in Greensboro, NC. Engineer extraordinare Jim Ritchey captures the 'ragged but right' sounds of the band to great effect.
