Influences

Sounds Like
A barn dance after three or four bolts of whiskey.
Dishing up foot-stomping old time classics and tight high-and-lonesome harmonies, the Oak Street Ramblers are an up-and-coming band in Madison’s burgeoning bluegrass scene.
The Oak Street Ramblers were born in a garage on the corner of Oak and Union streets on the east side of Madison, Wisconsin. At first a loosely-knit collective made up of a revolving cast of old time and Americana enthusiasts, the Ramblers eventually coalesced into a core group of dedicated bluegrass pickers. Their first experiences playing live came during a regular gig at Mr. Robert’s, where the Ramblers honed their skills playing for career drinkers and disinterested music fans waiting for the show to start at the theater next door. Eventually the Ramblers moved down the street to the friendly confines of Wonder’s Pub, where they continue to pick and stomp out traditional bluegrass, old time gospel, and classic country every first Saturday of the month.
The band is comprised of Liz Stattelman-Scanlan on vocals and guitar, Lonesome Willie Jones on vocals and mandolin, Ian Alderman on vocals, dobro and guitar, Tina Thompson on vocals and fiddle, Mark Schlutt on vocals and banjo, and Jeff Kunkle on bass (and the occasional off-key warbling).
The Oak Street Ramblers would love to have y’all come on down and see us at Wonder’s Pub the first Saturday of every month, or catch us at one of our numerous other engagements around south central Wisconsin.

Please submit your artist news and events to CountryHome Forum to help your artists to get well known better in Europe. I know that many artists from North America don't have their music videos uploaded to German video websites. The most popular websites are MyVideo.de and ClipFish.de. That means your European audience does not have the chance to find them.
I understand that most of you don't speak German and are not able to upload videos because of the language barrier. If you would like me to upload your videos to the German video websites, please let me know.
Thanks

Poem 2 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (please see my blog): WALKABOUT WITH MY PEN
Once drove an old sedan, up north, From a place in Sydney to Cairns; Then to Kuranda I went forth, By train, to look without set plans.
I browsed through the trendy market, With fresh fruits of tropical kind; Walked to the creek through lush thicket - Nature’s hand giving peace of mind.
I dined in a scenic cafe; Then, outside, as I wrote for yen, Some passing Kooris called-out: “Hey, You go walkabout with your pen.”
Request or question, I don’t know - Assured voices, elderly men. That’s now several years ago, And I’ve seen the world - with my pen.
