The O’Donnells are a father and son duo who bring a combination of musical influences together to create an honest and refreshing new sound. Very rarely will you find a pair who can entertain the crowds like Darryl Lee and Klinton O'Donnell do. Audiences – young and old – are drawn to the passion and fire in their performance and the music they play, and the reason can be described in one word – ‘REAL.’
Darryl Lee doesn’t recall a time in his life when he was not interested in music so it was no surprise when his son Klinton showed an interest and talent in playing the piano and singing. It was obvious the apple didn't fall far from the tree when it came to their love for music. Both father and son have worked very hard together to sharpen their musical skills, and their hard work is evident in their distinctive lyrics and melodies. You owe it to your ears to hear their crisp harmony and the ease in which The O'Donnells perform.
Darryl Lee started singing in front of audiences at the age of six and by his early teens was also playing the banjo and guitar as well as writing his own songs. Darryl won several local competitions before making the move to Nashville in 1993 to pursue opportunities on a larger scale. Since his move he has sung background and played acoustic guitar for several well-known country acts. Over the years Darryl's vocal talent has lead him to perform in a variety of venues in and out of Nashville, and to being hired by studios and other songwriters to sing their demos. He has worked with several local talented artists and musicians including his son Klinton who started performing with him in 2006. Klinton started playing piano and singing in his teenage years and has already proven himself as a talented musician who has earned the respect and admiration of his peers. He made his debut appearance as a recorded artist on The O'Donnell's newly released single Live To Love Another Day.
Darryl's and Klinton’s musical style and sound has been influenced by many great talented artists including: Merle Haggard, Little Roy Lewis, Ronnie Milsap, Bruce Hornsby, Restless Heart, Vince Gill and Joe Diffie. These early influences have helped them develop their vocals, instrumentation and songwriting to create a sound that is fresh to every listener, a unique hybrid blend that is undeniably known as THE O'DONNELLS.
