The OGeez is a play on words of sorts and reminds us of who we are - old guys at least in today's world. Our band is primarily two O.G.'s who share a life-long passion for music of all kinds. More than anything we want to tell stories about life through our music. We may be O.G.'s, but we definitely don't believe in the saying "You can't teach an old dog new tricks". We think many O.G.'s use that as an excuse not to embrace change in their lives. We're not looking to recapture our youth. We grew up in the early days of rock and roll, but we see no reason to return to that era to "recapture our youth." We'll leave that to other O.G.'s - we want to be in the here and now! We are primarily a studio band comprised of two O.G.'s - Lew Whitter and Steve Gerick. Lew is the storyteller with the golden voice. Steve is the one who constructs most of the musical expression and plays all of the instruments - excepts drums. We're not on a mission to prove we are young at heart. We love what we're doing and that in itself is our reward.
