The Old School Players hereby referred to as TOSP, was completely formed in the late winter & early spring of 2007. After years of searching for a truly great drummer, Ben Thompson, Tommy Roeck & Scott Bowes finally hit pay-dirt when a man named Stephen Avary came over to the jam house on top of the mountain in Hot Springs Village. Thompson, Bowes and Roeck have played in several groups over the last 10 year, most notably they were formerly known as Area 51. The three of them knew that if just someday they could find the right drummer, that all their efforts would be worth it, and they could form the local super- group, that is a power quartet with seasoned professionals that would be both entertaining and fun and sound awesome. Stephen Avary has been playing drums for 25 years, raised in Texas he cut his teeth on the local rock and metal scene at the age of 11, and he is a powerful but very well controlled and dedicated professional that is a long awaited and very welcome addition to TOSP. The current line up TOSP is definitely a force to be reckoned with in the Arkansas scene. With over 80 years playing experience between them all around the United States and abroad, it shouldn’t take long for these old school musicians to turn a few heads and rock a few lifetimes. Specializing in but not limited to hard classic rock such as Hendrix, Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Pat Travers, Bad Company, Foghat etc. and 90's rock icons such as Bush, Creed, Candlebox, & Guns-n-roses to name a few. They work with the audience very well and try to cover any requests they can. They have an arsenal of songs, killer equipment, reliable transportation, and a non stop, the show must go on attitude, combined with their years of performing and talent honed to a fine edge, this band will surely be an asset to any musical venue or event.
