About me:

Welcome to the wonderful world of moi! Spoken for by Nessie. Singer/songwrite...when the will takes me...DJ and radio presenter....ex World's Biggest Liar (true!)and General manager of The Rum Story in Whitehaven. Previously co-owned The Whitehouse in Whitehaven, as well as The Heapodrome and heapo's Cellar Bar (also in the metropolis of Whitehaven)Where I've promoted a few bands in my time. One of the original MC's of Solfest and also MC of the lamented Langdale Music Festival. You might have noticed I get round a bit! Still DJ-ing for specialist 60-70-80's nights (as the 275/285 roadshow for those who remember AM radio) and making appearances live when paid in enough beer and money now in these credit crunch days - although (and I say this myself) I'm remarkable value for money!!!

"Listeney" Things

My own will shortly follow

Who I'd like to meet:

Most of 'em are dead now! although Gordon Brown has got a face you would never tire of slapping at present!

    Great to have met the real you and Nessie and hope that we can have the craic again in the not too distant future. I got back to the cave at 9-00 and I reckon I'll sleep the rest of the week. That Mr. Lloyd has a lot to answer for. But how the hell does he do it? That man is a human dynamo.

    If you have walked in the heart of the Green wood
    and have bathed in the light of its living force
    remember what you have felt;
    and whenever you pass a tree
    whether it stands alone in a wilderness of human making
    or in the depth of woodland,
    give a moment of your time to listen to its voice.
    For in many parts of the land the trees are dying
    only the hearts that know something of the true wisdom can save them. (Anon)

    Hello Phil nice to meet you, thanks for adding me as a friend.

    Si usted ha paseado por el centro del bosque verde
    y se ha bañado en la luz de su fuerza viva
    recuerde lo que usted ha sentido;
    y siempre que usted pase al lado de un árbol
    si está parado solamente en un yermo de fabricación humana
    o en la profundidad del bosque,
    dé un momento de su tiempo para escuchar su voz.
    Porque en muchas partes de la tierra los árboles se están muriendo
    solamente los corazones que tengan algo de la sabiduría verdadera pueden salvarlos. (Anón)

    Hola, encantado de conocerle.

    You've a horde of Norsemen traipsing across the fells. Thanks for the describtors (tent and car). I'll have a l'al Ifor Williams Box Trailer van with a blue tarp framework. And since I can't get on site while 11-00 and the bar don't open till 18-00, that's 7 hours of nothingness. So a crate of ale is in order. Hey, just remembered, if you were behind the bar last year, I'm the scrounger who took all the cheap beer and then the cheap cider in 2 litre coke bottles!

    A digital accordian. Makes me want to get a digital AK47. No, a real one. What time on Friday, are you opening the bar? I'll be there long before opening time, if the past is owt to do with it. And I've often missed the early sessions!
  • Jun 16 2009 6:24 AM

    Whoops! It's me again traipsing all over your site! Yes Ulvrston Brewery knocks out some damn good beer but so does me ol' mate Stuart Johnson at the Prince of Wales at Foxfield. He's the only person I know of that has only one pub but two breweries! Erm - must go and see him and his luvly wife, Linda this weekend.

    Argh! That was flippin' atrocious. Certainly not our Bill at all. Oh Alec, you've made on hell of a cock-up. Will you tell him or should I. I doubt if Bill will be too chuffed to be associated with that noise either.
    PS got the ex's wrong. The Real Witch was the first; it was the second who came from Donnie and could she sing "The Galway Shawl"?
  • May 30 2009 2:57 PM

    "Waking the Witch" - Christ, don't disburb the first ex from under the Elder! She drove me to drink, my daughter to heroin and my son to skunk. No, leave her be. And her mother, St. George missed that one!
  • May 30 2009 10:44 AM
