In our modern world of detached commercialism, it is great to have a performer such as Micah Anderson whose soulful prose and down-to-earth songwriting provides a relaxed, upbeat and urgent vibe.
Anderson grew up in San Jose, CA and began his musical venture after relocating to Los Angeles in December 2002. It was there that he met bassist Scott Bartel and producer Rick Duncan who helped him produce his first demo, Blu Voodoo Stu. The release paved the way for his album, All That It Is, in 2006 and a self-titled EP in 2008 that he recorded in NYC with Killingsworth A&R Vice President Anthony Santonocito.
Anderson's musical style is a mix of old and new as he draws on the vocal work of Layne Staley (Alice In Chains) and Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam), the guitar work of Mike McCready, Jimi Hendrix and Slash and the lyrical style of Jim Morrison, Bob Dylan and Tupac Shakur. It's an original cocktail of socially conscious Blues and Classic Rock. Despite the popularity of his acoustic work, Anderson has recently shifted gears and returned to his Rock roots.
Micah Anderson will be heading back into the studio later this year to record his third album with Rick Duncan.

“Earthy. That’s the word that keeps coming to mind as I explore the music made by Micah Anderson. It has the rich texture of fertile soil. It has roots that stretch deep into the ground of musical influence. And it has the bright vividness of colors and smells and sensations that can only be found in nature. It is down-to-earth; earthy.
The detailed riffs of Anderson’s guitar, the long pull on his harmonica … these things make you feel like the heat of the Earth’s core is coming up through the land and warming your heart. You can put your ear to the ground of his music and sense the vibrations of an oncoming audio train. You can lift your chin to the heights that he reaches as the instrumentals climax and feel the slight wind of their melody there.”
Ohhh, right. Desire. Isn't it on the All That I Am cd?
I haven't got to watch really any baseball. And I have the package on my computer. They're not up to speed yet, but watch Cahill and Anderson carefully. They're both top 25 prospects in all of baseball. Cahill is just nasty, though Anderson is a shade farther along.
So the movie for Moneyball is scheduled to start shooting in about 6 weeks. Should be good with Steven Soderbergh (Traffic) at the helm. Brad Pitt is playing Billy Beane, so that should at least put some chicks in the theatre.

Following is an excerpt From Vic Soctotra Daily Socotra
Mabon's day is primarily a harvest festival, since at the time of the equinox it is the end of the grain harvest. But it celebrates something else, something older than agriculture. It celebrates the forest deep and the creatures that live within it. This is the mating season for deer, and marks the beginning of the hunting season in many places. In British folklore this time of year is associated with Herne the Hunter.
Herne leads a wild phantom chase through the primal forest, heralding confusion and change. In one tradition the Fall Equinox is called "the Night of the Hunter." The Mabon-fest also can mark the death or departure of the God in His yearly life-cycle, and the Fall Equinox has also been identified as the "assumption of the Crone," when the dark face of the Goddess assumes her sway over the world of darkness. The Crone will rule until the return of the Maiden in February, the half-Equinox called Imbolc.
If this season of the dying of the green belong to the God, it is only because he is perfectly blanced with the Goddess. There is no hierarchy of sex or gender in the natural world, since we are equally necessary to its turning. If this Equinox is the province of the hunter, it is only because the Mother has earlier given life.
