...formed about 170 odd million years ago in large underwater dunes, we found ourselves continuously shifting about on the sea floor. quickly made friends with the ammonites, covered ourselves in crinoid and set about creating solid slabs of jurassic rock..we enjoy exposing ourselves wherever possible up and down the country, from dorset through central england and on towards the yorkshire coast...
...oolitic rock is not the heaviest or hardest, but instead intricately and interestingly formed, although often dangerous and can be prone to collapse.... when studied live the dynamics of the formation can be very powerful...
...recent attempts to allow the oolites to become more accessible and readily available have been a success and have allowed the band to show otherwise hidden or unseen colours and textures in a more acoustic and subtle manner. many people prefer this area of study and courses are now available - details of which will be updated below.
..currently the oolites are being recorded in a safe and controlled environment in the midlands. this is an exciting project that will provide a much needed cd database containing a wealth of material suitable for use in the study of the little known oolites...
