...a quirky little duo formed a quirky little band.
Originally a campy piss-take cabaret rock duo with a faggy "american" front man, The Open Mouths expanded and expanded, encompassing 6 members, an album, a single, two Truck Music Festivals. Then it got dull and they called it a day.
But you can't keep a showgirl down.
Two years after splitting up, The Open Mouths are back, revamped, revitalised and embracing the theatrical, cabaret nature at their heart as they move in a darker, funnier, glitter stained direction.
Founding members Bruce Pristine and Michael Knife return to their roots alongside pianist Tom of Denmark, fusing faggy indie with the drama of Brel and Liza, Dennis Cooper darkness, and a witty, bitchy slant on the gay world in all its shitty glory.
Sadistic tops, sauna suicides and sex change regrets..... prepare to be razzle dazzled as The Open Mouths throw themselves into the alternative cabaret scene.
