The Opponent Bros.

The Opponent Bros. is a producer/live-act project from West Bohemia founded in the beginning of 2004.

2004: Oponent genesis
The birth of T.O.B. was a reaction to the west-bohemian music scene, urban greyness and depression. The main motto of The Opponent Bros. comes from the original rave ideas and D.I.Y. (do it yourself) culture. In this time they organize their first club parties in the capital of West Bohemia, focusing on different electronic music styles. Their own style shapes as a combination of breakbeat, heavy tech-house and softer forms of techno. Later they start performing together, combining straight and broken rhythms.

2005 - 2006: Music
The peak of this period is the open air „ANIMAL EXISTENCE“ in Pilsen in summer 2005. In the next year a successful sequel takes place to support actions of the organization "Svoboda zvírat" ("Animal Freedom"). Fluidum and Cloud 86 start to focus on their own production, apart from promotion a djing. Their domain becomes hard breakbeat and tech-breaks, mixed with various psychedelic sounds and effects. In the year 2006 the guitarist Jarass Freeze appears as a guest in TOB and together with his arrival, the firts demo is completed featuring the tracks "Run" and "Fast Life". These tracks were played e.g. on Radio 1 Prague.

2007 - 2008: Evolution
The evolution of production has come. Tracks like Psychic Breakdown, Hindsight or Time 4 Change (the two latter released on compilations „Na západní fronte neklid“ ("All Unquiet on the Western Front") are their first steps on their new musical way. Along production, their DJing changes shape to achieve a complete blending of the project's atmosphere. The ultimate form could be called "free tech-breaks style" - a crossover of hard kinds of old school and nu-school breakbeat, industrial techno and various tech-breaks forms. The main breakthrough comes with the purchase of their own hardware, which decides the future form of their music. In one expression: Live–act.

2009: On the verge..
Metamorphosis. Regeneration. Revitalisation. Final transition from the turntables and computer based music to their personal production on sound machines. The procedure for the rave and acid sounds in combination with breakbeat rhythms and techno sounds. Change in access of creation, linking and looping. Emphasis on rhythmic changes and transitions in combination with the melodic and atmospheric passages.

2010: Uprising of Opponents!
The first Live PA shows!..Crossing the sharp variations of drums, pumping synthetic bass lines, pads and crystalline surfaces and synthesizer grooves complete with vocal and voice samples reflects our common positive message to all of this subculture and all of openly think people in the present - confused and alienated - period of spiritless mainstream pop culture products...Result of The Opponents: Pure electronic dance music underground for unconventional ears...
