We are four best mates/musicians hailing from St Ives, Cornwall. We formed Oracy late September 2007 and since have been gigging in and around the South West area performing our own blend of Indie Rock blended with some eletronic glitchy beats and some quirky synths. We all love different genres and styles of music which then results in each of us bringing our individual influences to the mix, we don't aim to sound like any other band, ("It is better to fail in individuality than to succeed in imitation" ~ Herman Melville) , not that we intend to fail! Our intention is to SUCCEED through INDIVIDUALITY.
WATCH THIS MYSPACE! We have some big news which we will post in mid July.
We love playing live, so if you are a band looking for a support act, or a promoter/venue needing a headline/support band then please get in touch with the contact details in the BOOKING ORACY section above.
We love you all! ORACY!
"Well Well.... Oracy are in the house!! Tremendous, Super Dooper, wonderful, Insanely Bloody Good!! Super Human progression in song and music has put Oracy firmly at the top of PressPlay's radar. Its not just the electrifying energy on stage or Jacks mental Blonde afro that grabs my attention its the song writing that I just mentioned. Never have I heard such intelligent and well constructed songs produced by such a young band. Put it this way, their songs are miles ahead of their age and a bench mark for all other young bands coming through. The Drumming is insanely tight, the lead guitar parts are concise and on-point and with driving base notes and cool as frig Rifts, the live sound is as good as anything I have ever seen! Lets not even get started on Jacks voice..... The boy has more range Charlotte Church!! These boys are an inspiration as to what it takes to progress through the fickle local circuit and if they keep blasting out performances like the one PressPlay caught, these boys wont have to content with the local scene, it will be the National circuit they'll be inflicting with their splendour! A little work needs doing on the image of this band but all in all Id challenge anyone to deliver a greater young band to a PressPlay Stage..... Challenge on!!

"Your louder than Butlins" - Elderly Woman
"So amazing my ears started pissing enjoyment" - Zac Dodds
"ST IVES based ORACY'S fifteen year old members wear their grungy influences on their sleeves with pride, passion and commitment. However, all is not as it first seems, for Oracy don't do genres, they just do Oracy and it's bloody brilliant.
Take signature tune 'Sam It's Not Over'. As the laptop produced electro rave beats of drummer Max Rowat kick in you would think you were in a warehouse in 1989. Then comes the verse. Raw powerful vocals from co-front man and bass player Conor Green lead you to believe he is in fact possessed by Cobain's spirit. Then in a whirlwind of melody you're back into rave again, only this time with a drum and bass flavour. 'Sam...' then ends in an epic fusion of styles that sounds like an average thirty year olds CD collection in a blender. It shouldn't work, but it does . - GO2 Magazine
"You were really impressive. I think you are an inspiration to your peers. SW1 Productions
"Oracy don't only boast one awesome front man either. Guitarist and uber-permed vocalist Jack Fox-Williams, possibly has one of the best natural rock voices around and electric showman-ship to match. Add to this the competent and melodic guitar work of Alex Macfarlane and sparks fly" - GO2 Magazine
