The Orange Drop is a rock band originally from New Brunswick, NJ. The style is mostly rooted in 60’s psychedelia but with a modern twist. Influences include Pink Floyd (Barrett era), The Rolling Stones (Brian Jones era), The Band, XTC, Spacemen 3, the Brian Jonestown Massacre, Robyn Hitchcock, etc…
The Orange Drop has 2 self-released full length albums (The Orange Album, and Atlas) and one EP (the Talented Friends EP) and are currently recording their third full length album (Soul Damage).
Review:
“Once in an orange moon a band comes along that blows your brain clean off your skull with the sounds they are making. Today to me the moon looks like a great tangerine suspended in the bright blue sky of dawn, and The Orange Drop are that band. Re-inventing 60s psychedelia with a 21st century twist of experimentalism, “The Orange Album” is their second album of the year - bursting at the seams with supersonic guitar riffs, beautiful kooky singing, mighty drums and bass, a Beatle-esque risk-taking dance between styles (who would have thought rhythm & blues piano would lead so well into a tabla?) and digital mind-altering tricks of sound, it is the fanfare of a gang of young musical magicians discovering just how brilliant they really are. Where most bands struggle beneath the weight of self-doubt, The Orange Drop blatantly know that they are onto something and effortlessly sweep you up on the wave of invincibility with them”

Hello Faithful
followers!! Sorry for the
disappearing act. Maggie cracked her head open during a basement show, so we’ve
been out(no pun intended) for awhile. She is almost better so when that happens
we’ll be back in the recording studio. In the meantime, we did manage to
convince our buddies at myspace.com/onryeproductions to let us do the video
game SFX that are on their newest episode.
If you are interested
in having a song or songs of yours featured in future episodes please send mp3s
to onryecontact@gmail.com
Sorry I'm barely getting around to responding to a comment you left on 5/21. Ha ha! I'm a slacker. I think "The Extreme Regions" would be a great album title. It would basically mean the harshness of outer space and could work for either Stellium or The Orange Drop. Just an idea. I have others too. See you all in Philly next month! Cheers!
