You walk across a grassy field one North Edmonton afternoon and in the distance you hear something. The slightly muffled rhythm you are able to determine is originating to one of the houses off to your left.
In the dimly lit basement of that particular house stands the guitarist, strumming a series of chords with fury and power like some music possessed demon. To his left you watch a wispy haired lad dance his fingertips along the frets of a bass guitar. Like an ancient dance he maneuvers through each note as he and the guitarist sing their hearts out to the rhythm generated by the sunglass wearing, human beat box to their rear. He, the drummer, pounds away at his drums with an aggressive delicateness that is the backbone of every song you hear.
They continue to play through their songs with enough energy to fill a concert bowl , but that summer afternoon the band is not surrounded by 50,000 fans.. just you alone under that maple tree listen to those boys play.
They may be The Ordinaries, but there was something extraordinary about their performance that Summer afternoon. Their energetic melodies exemplify their drive, their dedication and their manifesto to the music they love.
Lookout Rock n Roll, here come The Ordinaries.
The Ordinaries would like to thank...
